Breaking Away From Screens
Deep in the oldest Eastern European forest, we've turned an old military aircraft hangar into a structure that accumulates knowledge, technology and, well, innovation. The Wright Innovation Hangar is totally not about apps, social media or the next big (giant) smartphone. We're doing something else entirely and we are hosting events and experiments on the edge of known and unknown.
Our Space
We kept the hangar's character. The big steel arches and weathered metal tell their own story to event participants and our team alike. We added some glass, peculiar lighting, and clean design to make it work. Trees surround us from all sides, all those pines, birch, and a hundred year-old oak. It's quiet here. That matters for thinking clearly.
What We Do
When regular tech runs out of ideas, we're just getting started. We build things you can touch. We design tools that don't need screens. We explore what happens when you mix old-school craftsmanship with new technology. We focus on:
- Making thinking tools that use paper, language and mind instead of pixels and code numbers;
- Building interfaces that don't need screens or reimagine them completely;
- Creating technology that works without sensors;
- Designing products that feel real in your hands.
Why We Exist
Everyone's making apps. Everyone's building AI. Everyone's stuck on screens, and this echo of Silicon Valley is making millions of lives more monotonous, screen-dependent and dull. We are past the point when any new technology equals diversity and opportunity, we are now at the point where new technology is often a new distraction.
We think there's more out there. The Wright Innovation Hangar believes in a future where technology enhances human skills instead of replacing them. Where digital and physical work together. Where "innovation" means more than just "faster processor" or "bigger screen."
Who is This For
Here's to the fools who dream, as a line from a beautiful movie goes.
- Designers tired of making everything for screens
- Engineers who like building physical things
- Artists playing with technology in unexpected ways
- Entrepreneurs looking beyond the app store
- Anyone who thinks tech should feel more human
See What We're Building
If you're curious about technology beyond the usual stuff, come visit. Get in touch with us, and we may invite you to try prototypes, join practical workshops or start a project.
We're building a future that uses both hands and code. One does not make another absolete and there is a need for both. And our side can be messy sometimes! Perhaps, this is what makes it the most interesting.
